Hey guys! One of the most parenting-related things googled are day schedules and/or food schedules for babies and toddlers. So today I thought I would contribute to this subject with my own blogpost about the schedule for my 18 month old daughter!
Of course, not every day is the same but I try to keep it the same, more or less. It gives me a lot of clarity and rest and also a positive effect on Noëlle. She knows exactly when to ask for a “nana”.. Banana! Since she is now 18 months old she starts to know a little bit of how our day will go. I will include food, rest and play times from a typical day off which is normally Friday when I also don’t have any obligations.
In the morning we get up about 7:30. I take Noëlle downstairs and make her a bottle. She still gets a 180 cc bottle with 6 measuring spoons of Hero Baby 4. While drinking her bottle she likes to watch shows as Peppa Pig and Ben and Holly. I always give her a little bit of screen time because it’s also a relax day. Around 10 ish she gets hungry again and I always give her a piece of fruit. Mostly banana since she likes it the most! I try to change it up with mango, apple or grapes. (which I slice in 4 pieces, yes)
Noëlle is very picky about her fluids. She only drinks lemonade instead of water. With baby no. 2 I will not even begin to give him or her lemonade and just stick to water. Noëlle drinks it during the day. Not on set times. Around 12 it’s time to go to sleep. I always try to keep approximately 4 hours between waking up and her afternoon nap time or else she won’t be tired enough to actually go to sleep and she will just lay in her bed singing. She sleeps until 2:30 and after nap time I give her two pieces of bread which either be made with jam, cheese or meat. When she is done eating we dress up and we go to the playground near our house or go to the city to do some shopping together. Mostly we enjoy walking and doing groceries. We do that everyday.
When we’re home around 4:00 she usually gets something in the range of raisins, a cracker with cream cheese or a toddler cookie. Not too much since it’s almost dinnertime for her!
Dinnertime is around 5:30 for Noëlle. We can almost eat at the same time but our dinnertime varies every day so that is hard to work with since she goes to bed early. I always make dinner for Noëlle myself. She does not eat the food from a container or anything since there is almost no taste to it. I always use ingredients like garlic, pasta spices, pepper… anything that has flavor. She eats 150 grams of veggies, carbs and meat together and a dessert of applesauce or yogurt.
Noëlle is not a big eater so around 7:00 she get’s a bottle of milk, 210 cc’s with 7 measured spoons of Hero Baby 4. We brush her teeth afterwards and then she goes to bed. We sing our bedtime songs, always the same songs so she knows the routine. She goes to sleep and sleeps again until approximately 7:30.
- 7:30: We get up
- 8:00: 180 cc + 6 sp of Hero Baby 4
- 10:00: Fruit
- 12:00: Naptime
- 2:30: 2 pcs of bread and lemonade
- 3:00-4:30ish: Going out, playtime or shopping… doing stuff together!
- 4:30: Little snack
- 5:30: 150 grams of dinner plus dessert
- 7:00: 210 cc + 7 sp of Hero Baby 4

Every child is different. They may have other needs, eat more dinner than Noëlle.. that doesn’t matter. This is the schedule that I have with her and of course the times vary from day to day. This is just an example. Nothing is set in stone.
I hope this blog is helpful for you! If you have any questions just ask me in the comments.
